Air Duct Cleaning Procedures for Residential
According to the American Lung Association "Indoor Air Pollution is wide spread. You are more likely to get sick from pollution in your home and office than from pollution in the air outside." Your home’s air is 5 to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air. Allergies and sinus conditions are commonly caused by mold in the ductwork, bacteria, viruses, fungi in your home’s air.
Our air duct cleaning company consistently invests in the most modern technology and air duct cleaning equipment to ride your home of the dirt, bacteria, dust and debris that has built up in your air ducts. We use a negative machine; equipped with HEPA filtration, and a powerful air compressor and air agitators to ensure you air ducts are thoroughly cleaned. The duct cleaning process followed by Air Gott Services, Inc. is in strict accordance with NADCA standards.
The procedure we use to perform Air Duct Cleaning {the procedure may vary slightly per job depending on the configuration of the duct work}
Air Gott Services, Inc. will utilize a combination of contact vacuuming and source removal duct cleaning practices. Contact vacuuming is applying vacuum {negative air} directly to the interior duct surface at the main trunk lines. The ductwork is access through exposed access openings.
Source removal duct cleaning is applying a HEPA filtered vacuum source at one end of the ductwork while introducing a agitating device downstream at the vent opening. Our crew will vacuum off the vent covers while a agitating device will render the particulate matter loose and ultimately be pushed toward the vacuum hooked up on the main ductwork. We start from the furthest vent and work are way back to the main system. Method of agitation varies depending on the size and type of duct work and include air operated whips and/or brushes. Note that the furnace will be zoned off so no debris will be pulled through the system during cleaning. If needed an OSHA approved, anti-microbial solution may be added to the cleansed system as a barrier to prohibit bacteria growth.
Upon completion the access holes are closed with sheet metal which are attached with self-tapping screws then sealed with special foil tape. This leaves a convenient access door for future duct work maintenance, and will not affect air-flow. Furnace cleaning is offered and is performed by removing the panel on the air handler, and brush and vacuum the encasement, the insulation, the fan, the blower and the coils {if accessible}.

Dryer Vent Exhaust Cleaning
Lint build-up inside a laundry exhaust will cause the dryer to lose efficiency or create a blockage with possible fire risk. Air Gott Services remedies the situation by clearing exhaust lines of harmful lint resulting in better drying capacity and less wear on dryers. This in turn, can lead to significant energy savings and less frequent dryer repairs. Annual maintenance is suggested.
Dryer Vent Fires - A Common Problem:
- Failure of mechanical and/or electrical parts within the dryer
- Improper materials placed in the dryer
- Insufficient airflow as a result of improper installation
Warning Signs
- Clothes (especially towels or jeans) that take a long time to dry
- Clothes are hotter than usual at the end of the cycle
- Flapper on vent hood doesn't open when dryer is on
